Insurance
Linda can submit to some insurance providers directly on your behalf.
If Linda cannot submit to insurance directly on your behalf and you have insurance that you would like to use, you will need to pay for your counseling session at the time of service.
If we are not submitting to your insurance on your behalf, a "superbill" (an itemized invoice) can be provided that you can submit to your insurance company for reimbursement. Reimbursement is based on your policy's standards. Please call your insurance company's member services number to verify how reimbursement works under your insurance policy.
If you have a HSA (health savings account) or FLEX spending account your card can be charged for nutrition services. Linda may need to be set up as a health care provider with the card company prior to charging the card.
You can download this step-by-step guide on asking your insurance to verify coverage and reimburse the cost of nutrition services.
Cash, checks, and all major credit cards are accepted.

If the insurance company asks for a CPT code you can provide them with the following service codes: 97802 & 97803.
Linda cannot diagnose clients as that is outside the scope of practice for an RDN. Linda will work with your physician for a referral which will include a diagnosis.
Insurances don't cover all diagnoses. If your insurance has exclusions and needs a specific code you will need to get that from the referral information or your physician.
Insurance will require a referral. Linda will ask you to sign a release form, then she will take care of contacting your primary care physician for the necessary referral.
Your insurance carrier will be able to tell you how many visits they will cover. The number of visits can range from 0 to unlimited depending on medical need.
The same rules typically apply for telehealth and in person services. You will need to ask your insurance the same questions as well as if they cover telehealth services.
$120 for the initial visit, and up to $60 for 30 minute follow up visits.

Starting on January 1, 2022, the No Surprises Act1 (NSA) protects uninsured (or self-pay)
individuals from many unexpectedly high medical bills.
Under the law, healthcare providers need to give patients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance (otherwise known as self-pay) an estimate of the bill for medical items and services.

I see clients at all office locations (Ankeny, Pleasant Hill, West Des Moines) and via telehealth.
