New Life Counseling is looking to expand its team. We are a well-established, private clinic with 20+ years in the greater Des Moines area. We currently provide services for mental health and wellness in the following areas:
- Marriage & Family
- Children & Adolescents
- Trauma
- Certified Nutrition
- Art therapy
- Coaching, Training, & Speaking
We have 3 well-established locations: Ankeny, West Des Moines, & Pleasant Hill and have a solid referral base and marketing team. We provide outstanding compensation to our therapists.
Our clinical staff is comprised of individuals with a variety of backgrounds and training; they may have an LMHC, LMFT, LISW, T-LMHC, RDN, LDN, CADC, BCPC and/or PhD. We also provide training for a few student therapist/interns every year. As a benefit, we can provide in-house continuing education credits.

Full time or Part time Therapist
New Life is looking to expand its therapy team. We are seeking part-time or full-time clinical therapists. You will have the flexibility to schedule your own hours. The ideal candidate possesses excellent professional training, experience and clinical skills, along with the values of compassion and integrity in dealing with patients.
Our clinic has special need in the areas of trauma/emdr, child/adolescent therapy, and marriage therapy. There is a high demand for male therapists.
Job Description
- Provide outpatient counseling services in person and/or via telehealth
- Conduct diagnostic evaluations and assessments
- Develop, implement, and evaluate treatment plans/goals at appropriate intervals
- Educate and involve family members or other loved ones in the treatment process if/when necessary
- Attend scheduled group training
- Provide faith-based psychological services according to the level of comfort and need
- Effectively utilize and keep appropriate documentation within our secure electronic medical record (EMR) system
Requirements
- Ability to work independently and adhere to individual schedule
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Possess personal integrity and responsibility
- Positive and compassionate attitude
- Ability to agree with our statement of faith
- Minimum education: Master's degree in counseling, social work, or marriage & family
- Minimum licensure: LISW, LMHC, or LMFT. A pre-licensed LMHC or LMFT may be considered

Mental Health Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant
New Life is looking to expand its team. We are seeking part-time or full-time Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant with specialized mental health training. The individual in this position will work collaborateively with the therapy and nutrition staff, providing consultation as requested. They will have the flexibility to schedule your own hours. The ideal candidate possesses excellent professional training, experience and clinical skills, along with the values of compassion and integrity in dealing with patients.
Our practice has special need in the areas of psychiatric evaluations, psychological testing to assist in diagnosis and treatment, and medication managment.
Job Description
- Provide services in-person or via telehealth
- Provide psychiatric evaluations, medication management, and interventional treatments
- Conduct patient assessments and provide care consistent with accepted professional standards, including evaluations, treatment, referral, and related documentation
- Collaborate with psychotherapy and nutrition staff for coordination of care
- Consult on LDN cases
- Educate and involve family members or other loved ones in the treatment process if/when necessary
- Attend scheduled group training
- Provide faith-based services according to the level of comfort and need
- Effectively utilize and keep appropriate documentation within our secure electronic medical record (EMR) system
Requirements
- Knowledge of and ability to work effectively with an electronic medical record system with e-prescribing
- Ability to work independently and adhere to individual schedule
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Possess personal integrity and responsibility

- Ability to agree with our statement of faith
- Master's or Doctoral degree in Nursing or Related field
- Current RN and ARNP or PA unrestricted license
- Certification as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) by the ANCC, or other qualified psychatric/Mental Health Certification
- Psychiatry CAQ a bonus
