Med management 2

Taking care of your mental health is crucial, and we understand that navigating the world of psychiatric medications can be overwhelming. That's why we're here to provide you with valuable information and support to help you make informed decisions.

At New Life Counseling, we believe that medication management can be an essential part of mental health treatment. Our goal is to empower individuals to take control of their mental well-being by providing them with the knowledge and resources they need to make educated choices about their treatment.

What is medication management? It's the process of working closely with a healthcare professional, such as a psychiatric nurse practitioner or a primary care provider, to find the most effective medication regimen for your specific needs. This involves careful assessment, monitoring, and adjustment of medications to achieve optimal therapeutic outcomes.

Our team of experienced professionals understands that everyone's journey with mental health is unique. That's why we take a personalized approach to medication management. We recognize that finding the right medication, dosage, and combination can be a trial-and-error process. Our healthcare providers will collaborate with you to develop an individualized treatment plan that suits your specific symptoms, goals, and preferences.

What sets us apart is our commitment to holistic care. While medications can play a crucial role in managing mental health conditions, we understand that they are just one piece of the puzzle. We emphasize the importance of incorporating various therapeutic modalities, such as counseling, nutrition/wellness, and lifestyle changes, to optimize your overall well-being.

GeneSight

The GeneSight Psychotropic test analyzes how your genes may affect your outcomes with medications commonly prescribed to treat depression, anxiety, ADHD, and other mental health conditions. The GeneSight Psychotropic test provides your clinician with information about which medications may require dose adjustments, may be less likely to work for you or may have an increased risk of side effects based on your genetic makeup. The test is a simple cheek swab taken in our office or can be sent by your provider to be taken in the convenience of your home.

Our provider is registered to administer this test, and the GeneSight company handles billing your insurance. Most patients will pay no more than $330 and individuals with Medicare/Medicaid often pay $0. Even though our practice cannot bill Medicare/Medicaid, GeneSight can. Please visit the GeneSight website for more information. *Please note this service is only available for established patients*
