Tibisa Thor, Intern

As an intern at New Life Counseling, I bring over nine years of experience in the social work field and a deep commitment to helping individuals move toward healing and wholeness. Before beginning clinical training, I served as a Christian counselor in a private organization, walking alongside women and children as they faced life’s challenges. I’ve also served as a mentor and life coach, offering encouragement and guidance to people of all ages in their emotional, spiritual, and personal growth.

My professional journey has allowed me to work with individuals from diverse backgrounds and life experiences. I believe each stage of life carries its own struggles and opportunities for growth. My counseling approach integrates faith-based values with evidence-based therapeutic practices, creating a safe, compassionate, and nurturing space for healing. Whether you're working through trauma, emotional wounds, complex family dynamics, or wrestling with spiritual questions, I will meet you with empathy, grace, and hope.

I am currently pursuing a Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Liberty University. My work is grounded in a Christ-centered perspective and a belief in holistic care, honoring body, mind, and spirit. My goal is to help you discover your God-given strength, embrace your purpose, and build healthy, fulfilling connections.

Outside of counseling, I enjoy reading, fitness, mentoring others, and—most of all—being a mom. These parts of my life continue to ground me and remind me of the beauty of resilience, growth, and God’s faithful presence in every season.
