As a counselor, my desire is to provide compassion and discernment for every client. One of my favorite verses, Proverbs 16:9 states that “the Lord establishes our steps.” I believe that God has a plan and a purpose for the difficulties we face and that He works all things together for our good. I view counseling as a way to understand and help people from all walks of life, especially when our life plans are changing or uncertain.

The first thing you might like to know about me is that I am an Iowa transplant and was raised in Fargo, North Dakota. My education includes a bachelor’s degree in social work from Minnesota State University Moorhead (2008) and completed a master’s degree in school counseling from North Dakota State University (2012). My work experience includes several years spent working as a residential social worker and school counselor.

My counseling approach is faith-based, using Biblical values and principles. I also utilize Dialectical Behavior Therapy and Emotionally Focused Therapy techniques, but like to remain flexible based on my clients needs. Some books I recommend are Created for Connection by Dr. Susan Johnson, Boundaries by Dr. Henry Cloud and Dr. John Townsend, and the Great Lives biography series by Charles Swindoll.

In my free time, I enjoy spending quality time with my wife, daughter, and our extended families. Our family loves cooking together, spending time outdoors, and having fun with our pets. I also enjoy reading a good book, weight training, going to the movies, and staying in touch with friends. I look forward to helping you along your journey.

Accepted insurance plans include Blue Cross, Anthem, Aetna, UHC, UMR, Cigna, Optum,  Evernorth, Healthpartners, Medica, and Midlands Choice. Jordan also accepts private pay clients at a rate of $150-130. Some clients may qualify for a sliding scale fee option.
