Chris Harsh, MS, T-LMHC
Your story matters. To me, therapy is a place where values and actions align. My deep hope is that we work toward what you value most despite the hardships you face. My role is to listen without judgment and meet you with compassion. Everyone comes to therapy with individual needs, which is why I take an eclectic approach. Your goals will determine my therapeutic style.
I am a Des Moines native and an Upper Iowa Graduate. Some of my favorite memories were made on the pitcher's mound for the Peacocks. Alongside baseball, my hobbies include paddle boarding, hiking, and being in nature. I am a Star Wars enthusiast, and I love spending time with my family and friends.
I was introduced to therapy in 2018 to seek help for anxiety and panic attacks. After that experience, I sought out information on what it takes to become a counselor, and not long after I was enrolled in a counseling program. I hope to make a difference in the lives of people the same way my counselor made a difference in my life.
I work with children, teens, and adults, focusing on general anxiety, sports anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, challenging behaviors, and emotional regulation. On Mondays, I am located in Ankeny starting at 7:00 AM and ending at 4:00 PM. Tuesday through Friday, I am located in West Des Moines starting at 7:00 AM and ending at 4:00 PM. Additionally, I offer telehealth Monday through Friday. Feel free to contact me at chris@newlife-counseling.com or call our office at New Life to find out more.
