Brittney Frees, Intern
“Be strong,” they said. “Push through.” But what happens when strength feels impossible?
Life doesn’t come with a manual, and sometimes the weight of expectations, trauma, or loss can leave us feeling isolated or overwhelmed. I understand how painful it can be to carry those burdens alone. My approach to therapy is grounded in empathy, honesty, and a deep belief that healing happens when we feel seen and supported. My goal is to walk beside you as you explore your story and move toward healing, hope, and purpose.
I grew up in a small town in Iowa, where resilience was expected but rarely talked about. My background as a military spouse and my own personal losses have shaped the way I show up—with compassion, faith, and a deep respect for the resilience you bring into the room. Whether you’re navigating identity shifts, relationship challenges, or simply trying to feel like yourself again, I’ll walk with you through it.
I’m currently completing my master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling through Buena Vista University. I have a special passion for working with those navigating grief, identity transitions, and the pressure to “have it all together,” especially anyone who feels unseen in their struggle.
At home, I’m a wife, a dog mom, a reader of all books, and a firm believer in good coffee and deep conversation. I find joy in quiet mornings, nature walks, and making people laugh even on hard days. Faith is the foundation that keeps me grounded, and I carry that same heart of grace and compassion into my work with every client.
If you’re ready to take the next step, whether you’re hurting, healing, or just holding it all together, know that you don’t have to do it alone. I’d be honored to walk with you.
