Katie Smith, LMSW

Acknowledging the need for support is a courageous first step toward meaningful change. I'm here to accompany you on your mental health journey, offering guidance and tools tailored to your unique path.

As a Licensed Master Social Worker, I have experience providing individual, couple, and family therapy, with a focus on teens and adults. My areas of specialization include anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, grief, and loss. I strive to create a safe, supportive, and nonjudgmental environment where healing and growth can take root.

I earned my Master of Social Work degree from the University of Iowa and use a person-centered approach in therapy. I integrate a variety of therapeutic modalities, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Therapy, Emotion-Focused Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and mindfulness practices. I often bring a touch of humor into sessions to make the process more approachable and human.

I also have a special interest in the mind-body connection and how physical wellness impacts mental health. To deepen my understanding, I completed a Mental Health & Nutrition Certification and additional training with a focus on the gut-brain connection.

Outside of my professional work, I find joy in spending time with my three adult children, socializing with family and friends, and traveling—especially to Ireland, which holds a special place in my heart.

It’s an honor to walk alongside clients as they pursue personal growth and embrace their authentic selves. I look forward to supporting you on your journey.
