I was born and raised in Iowa during Iowa’s centennial year and graduated from Des Moines Technical High School being trained as a printer.  I completed my undergraduate degrees (AA) and (BA) from Free Methodist colleges in Kansas and Michigan.  My graduate work was completed at both Iowa State University in Student Services (MS), and Drake University in Mental Health Counseling (MS).nnA highlight has been completing a two year residency in Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) at Iowa Methodist Medical Center and later serving as a staff Chaplain.  I retired from Employee and Family Resources in July after 22 years counseling individuals, couples, adolescents, and those with addictions and employee issues.  I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) in Iowa and am a national Certified Employee Assistance Professional (CEAP).nnI enjoy working from a Christian perspective and am a Strength-based, Positive, Cognitive Behavioral therapist.  I enjoy working with folks who are worried, unhappy, discouraged and searching for meaning in their lives.  Couples are able to develop a new closeness through mutual respect and positive dialogue becoming supportive caring allies.nnGod is patient and through grace is able to restore relationships and fulfill dreams of those He loves so much.
