Heather Dix, MA, LMHC, LPC
I received my Master of Arts degree in Community Counseling as well as School Counseling from Denver Seminary and my undergraduate degree in Psychology with a minor in Communications from Iowa State University. I gravitate toward an Eclectic approach to counseling which includes various interventions from (CBT) Cognitive Behavioral, (DBT)Dialectical Behavioral, and (TBRI) Trust Based Relational therapy. I also have an interest in how nutrition and gut health affect mental health. I’m currently pursuing and learning more about nutritional and integrative medicine for mental health professionals. I have worked for New Life Counseling doing in-office sessions seeing adolescent through adult clients dealing with anxiety, depression, life transition and relationship issues. My past experience includes working in a middle school and high school setting as well as doing remedial therapy with kids and families.
We all have areas to grow and improve in ourselves and our relationships. I’ve experienced counseling in my own life and growth and redemption in Jesus through my life experiences as a wife and mom. I see our lives as a tapestry of the good and the bad and all our experiences woven together with the grace of Jesus. He gives purpose in the hard times when we are hopeless, freedom from our self-inflicted shame and false beliefs, grace in our mistakes, and healing for our emotional wounds. I treat clients from all spiritual and theoretical backgrounds. I would be honored to be your teammate on this counseling journey.
